ABOUT US

Tampines Arts Troupe (previously known as Lee Shu Fen & Dancers Society) is a non- profit Registered Society since June 1991 and had been registered as a Charity Organization since June 2000.  We changed our name to “Tampines Arts Troupe” in 1997 to diversify the cultural scope of our Troupe to embrace dance, song and music as these are our precious cultural heritage.

 

Our objectives are to:

 

1. Preserve and promote Chinese classical and ethnic, Ballet and Creative dance and provide a platform for their exhibition.

2. Organize workshops to attract public interest and engage them through our dances.

3. Organize courses to enhance performing skills.

4. We have the mission to preserve and promote this inspiring culture.

 

We have been an active cultural group in Singapore particularly in Tampines, well known for Chinese dance activities. Our performance is also for cultural outreach to the community and Charity Organizations.  Almost every year, we stage “Spring In Our Midst” concert series in our Resident Theatre, Tampines Cultural Centre.  In 2002, 2006, 2008, 2017 & 2019, we staged major-scale dance performance “Dance Attraction” at the Victoria Theatre & Drama Centre.

 

Over the years, we have a collection of remarkable and commendable repertoire.

“Moonlit Night”, “Racial Harmony”, “Joy of Spring”, “Jasmine”, “Korean Solo”,

“Glowing Crimson”, “Crescent Moon”, “Summer Rain” , “Mountain & Streams”, “Yearnings of Flying Geese” & “Tibetan Solo” etc.

It is our dream to nurture our people in song and dance and to appreciate the finer aspect of life.  It is like landscaping arts into a beautiful scenario and make Singapore a better place to live in.  As “Ten minutes on stage is Ten years of off-stage perseverance”, we are confident that with our instructors’ and administrator’s effort, we can really train some interested members who can eventually give rise to a healthy cultural blossom.
